Where there’s a cause, there’s a way.
Using an entrepreneurial approach, Causeway inspires and equips Chattanoogans to develop smarter solutions to our city’s toughest challenges. We believe that anyone who has an idea for social change, should have access to the tools and the resources they need to act on that opportunity. We help people develop and test their early-stage ideas so that they are prepared for growth.
Just like many of the causes that walk through our door, Causeway started with a grassroots idea and a dedicated group of volunteers. In 2010 several employees from a local tech company founded Causeway as an online platform that helped connect causes to the resources they needed to get their project off the ground. In early 2014, Causeway moved from an exclusively online platform to one that is present in the city; a front door for social innovation in Chattanooga. We found a home on Patten Parkway, hired a full-time staff, and added a variety of programs to better equip Chattanoogans to identify and solve problems in our city.
Causeway is a local non-profit supported by the Benwood Foundation, Footprint Foundation, the Community Foundation, the Osborne Fund and from hundreds of donations from Chattanoogans wanting to make a difference in their home town.
